Date night | Dearest Lou

Date night

For date night last week Daryl and I went over to our good friend Kevin's to roast marshmallows and hangout with both old and new friends. The weather was nice and the smores were oh so delicious! However, prior to the marshmallow roasting we went to Spaghetti Factory and stuffed our faces.. literally, I've never eaten so much in my life. So I only had room for one smore.
We left early because we went to see The Hunger Games. Overall, we thought it was a decent movie but there is ABSOLUTELY no chemistry between the actors playing Katniss and Peeta. That's our personal opinion.

For those of you who have seen the movie, what do you think?

  4. I thought the movie was awesome; didn't really notice the chemistry, but I don't think that there is supposed to be that much chemistry vibes coming from Katniss anyway, because she isn't really into him; she's just sort of going along for appearances.

  7. I completely agree with you about Katniss and Peeta! I thought it was so awkward!

Also, it is still strange to me that your husband and I have the same name and spell it the same way. hahaha!

  8. I like the colour scheme on your blog. I haven't seen the movie yet. I want to considering all the media fuss. Thanks for posting the photos and feel free to drop by me too when you have time.

  9. I agree! It was okay but I was wanting more chemistry shown between Katniss and Peeta. Like it the book..they were too breif with the "cave part" (which was my fave. ha.) and they didn't put as much emotion in the ending of the movie as the book had. My opinion. (:

  14. Mmmm, smores! You two look so happy :)

About the movie--I could rant about it for hours haha. I thought the actors were PERFECTLY cast, but the movie itself was so-so. They spent too much time on some things--the beginning--and it felt like the actual Games flew by. I don't think they focused enough on Katniss and Peeta's relationship, which was the whole reason they both survived... I just think they could have spent more time making their relationship believable.

Okay, rant over haha. I hope you enjoyed yourselves on your date night :)

  17. I think that the book was wayyyy better. There's mad chemistry when reading their love story rather than watching it. As usual..book trumps movie.

  20. Looks like such a fun night! You and your husband are super cute :)
I thought Peeta and Katniss had tons of chemistry! But I wasn't a fan of Liam Hemsworth as Gale.

I love the combination of stripes you're wearing!
