Z's 3rd Birthday: Reptile Party

I've been so incredibly busy the last month or so, but I'm finally getting around to posting about Zaden's birthday party! I wish I would have been able to capture more photos from the afternoon but aside from that the party went well.

I followed my party planning advice from last year and kept decorations and games to a minimum. You never know what you are going to expect with younger children and they usually do a great job of entertaining themselves.

Before I share photos from his actual party I want to share his adorable invites I  made over at Tiny Prints and what items I included in this years bags.

How adorable are these invites? I love that Tiny Prints has a variety of amazing designs. The most difficult part is always choosing which invite to go with. I decided to go with this design since it was colorful, fun, and had a large space for a photo. We got so many compliments from friends and family about our invites and highly recommend Tiny Prints for all of your party invite needs (see current promos here).

Everything I included in this years treat bags were items I found at our local Zurchers party store and candy from our local Kroger store (not pictured above).

Each bag included the following:

  • a couple reptile temporary tattoos
  • a small toy snake
  • a large toy snake (not pictured)
  • a toy frog
  • a sticky lizard on a string
  • chocolate
  • a couple lollipops
  • a balloon from the party
Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the food but we kept food this year very simple and sweet. Order a few large pizzas from Papa Murphy's and made them as they were devoured. Perfect party food for parents and kids! For drinks I let guests choose whether they wanted bottled water or soda.
This was our party agenda this year:
  • Arrival of guests/eating food
  • Pin the tongue on the Snake
  • "Find the Snakes"
  • Sing Happy Birthday/Cake Eating
  • Opening gifts
The morning of the party Daryl did a lot of the handmade items. He cut out and made the pin the tongue on the snake game (which was a hit!) and he made the amazing cake pictured below:
Isn't it amazing? Everyone loved his cake, especially Zaden.

Here's a bunch of other photos my sister Ti took for me towards the end of the party for those of you who are interested in taking a peek:
