Dark Blue & Burgundy

Haven't posted a mama and baby style in a while so here is one we did a few weeks ago. These pictures were taken right before Zaden started running all over the place. Now it's hard to capture a moment of this baby standing still. I've come to realize that the best time to take pictures of him is right after his nap since he is still a bit sleepy and doesn't have the energy to run away (;

Aztec Top & Pops of Color + Giveaway Winner Announced

Hi guys,

So I know it's been a while but for those of you who don't follow me on instagram, my little guy has been teething and had a really bad cold for a little over two weeks. He was extra clingy and only wanted to be held and have my full undivided attention. However, I'm happy to say that he is doing much better this week and I can hopefully get back into my blogging routine (;

These pictures were taken over a month ago now, it's crazy how fast time flies by, I feel like we took these just the other day. PerSun Mall sent me this top to style last month and I've worn it a few times since. I absolutely love it, especially the back!

What I wore:
Top: c/o Persun Mall
Skirt: Forever 21
Tights: Forever 21
Boots: Ross, very old purchase (loving these)
Beanie: Forever 21 (similar)
Lipstick: MAC Lady Danger

PS: Jolly Chic recently notified me that the winner I selected had already won a giveaway from them. I've randomly selected another winner so go check out the post H E R E to see if it's you!

Merino Kids Sleep Bag

Zaden has reached an age where he is really excited about everything around him. Before nap time or bed time I almost always nurse him to sleep. If he hears someone walk in the room or a squeak of a chair he immediately sits up and doesn't want to sleep anymore. When I finally get him to sleep he rolls around a lot during the night and has the tendency to kick the covers off. I've noticed that ever since the weather has been cooler he has been waking up more frequently during the night due to being cold and uncomfortable. Which has been really hard on both baby and mama.

Luckily for us, babysleepbags.com contacted me to see if we would be interested in doing a review on one of their Merino Kids Sleep Bags. After reading a bit about the sleep bags online and reading others reviews I quickly replied letting them know I would love to. I picked this gray striped gender neutral print because it will work for Zaden and our future children. When determining what size I should order I went based off of their size chart. Zaden isn't a very big toddler and I was confident picking the 0-2 size based on his height and weight. I know it's a bit difficult to tell in the pictures above since he scrunched the sleep bag together but he has a ton of room to grow before he outgrows this size.  I absolutely love this sleep bag for various reasons.

The Material:

When I read that the Merino Sleep Sack was made out of 100% Woolmark-certified Superfine Merino I was a bit scared that it would be itchy, hot, and hard for Zaden to sleep in. However, after reading more about the material on their website I realized that it is a very soft organic cotton exterior fabric unlike your typical itchy wool fabric. The material is so incredibly soft and retains the perfect temperature for Zaden! I don't have to worry about Zaden over-heating because it keeps him at the perfect temperature throughout the night.

Easy To Put On:

In order to put Zaden in his sleep bag I just put it on like a t-shirt, snap the little shoulder piece and armpit snap into place, and zip! There are snaps located right underneath the armpit to ensure a perfectly snug fit or to un-snap for older toddlers. There's also a zipper closure along the entire bottom which makes diaper checks and changes super easy.

Seat Belt Loop:

If you have a 0-4 month old I totally remember how often they sleep. Zaden never liked to be bundled up but I know most babies do. Something really nice about the Merino Kids Sleep Bag is that there's a convenient seat belt loop that you can just put your little ones seat belt through. That way you don't have to wake them up or worry about them kicking off their blanket in the car or stroller. I personally haven't tried this feature yet but it will definitely come in handy next time we drive to Washington.

Ever since we started using the Merino Kids Sleep Bag, Zaden sleeps better throughout the night which means I get a better nights rest too (;

Happy 2014!
